I Can't Believe it's Been a YEAR!!!!
The other day, Star and I could NOT believe that it had been an ENTIRE YEAR since the reception of our senior art show, Fire and Ice. That show felt like a milestone in our artistic career at the time ( even though it was a requirement to graduate rather than an awarded accomplishment ). When you're little, a year is the longest stretch of time imaginable, because when you're a kid, every single thing you know is different in a year's time. A year shouldn't seem so long anymore but we can't help but feel like our lives haven't changed all that much in the last year. But if you think about it, they really have. We are real working artists now, not just stressed out students. We get shows downtown for First Friday just like all the other local artist and, oh ya... we have a DEGREE! Everything IS different. We have a much more refined artistic voice and a little more direction. We still don't really know what we're gonna do next but we're working on it. Fire and Ice was an amazing accomplishment. I was one big compilation of our portfolios from our entire college careers. And the reception was KILLER.
